Reds on tour !!!!!!!!!!

Here's one for all you rugby league fans (especially the reds)
Being a soft lad from down south (as i keep getting told) we don't have a lot of rugby league its more that other one but i won,t mention it (union) that's the 1st and last time i mention that word on this site. Anyway some family of mine were down here in union (opps sorry) country and they are big Salford red supporters so for a donation we are now carrying the reds window sticker and scarf on our trip (see photos you may see somebody you know) we will be taking photos along the way of the van with sticker and scarf which we will publish on our return. So the reds are going on a big European tour this year. All the money we raise will be going to bibic (british institute for brain injured children) so if you could spare a few pounds we would be very grateful there is a link if you look to your right. If there is anybody else that wants us to take any stickers along with us and have the photos sent back to them we are open to bribery. MONEY A COUPLE OF SHIRTS both would be good and you will get your pictures sent to you on our return. Our email is doesanybody@aol.com

SPONSERS

Things have gone well for us on the sponser front we have managed to get 2 local companies to sponser us and have there company names on the van for the trip. One is a local timber suppliers WESTERN TIMBER and the other is a plant machinery supplier KELLANDS www.kellands.com They have not just sponsered us with cold hard cash they have also been helping us get some of those essential items you need for a journey like this so a big thankyou to them. Can you see your hand ?

Progress

Things are going well had a good look over the van at the weekend all it needs is a good service and a new fan belt, so that has been a bit of a result.
We came up with a good idea for raising money for our charity while getting people involved the idea is to get as many local people as we can to draw around their hands and put there name in it on the van for a donation of £1, we have taken it to the local playschool who were kene to get involved and to the local primary school fete. The van is now nearly full (pics will follow soon) and we managed to raise £96 for bibic.

Hi again things are moving along nicely now we are starting work on the van and trying to get some sponsorship from a few company's for our charity. The charity we are raising money for is the British institute for brain injured children. If you could donate some money this will be much appreciated just follow the link to the just give website. Here is a little bit of information about the charity and PLEASE PLEASE give generously thanks.

An introduction to BIBIC

BIBIC - British Institute for Brain Injured Children is a registered charity offering practical help to families caring for children with sensory, motor, communication, social or learning difficulties caused by conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, developmental delay, traumatic brain injury and specific learning difficulties such as attention deficits hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia and dyspraxia. BIBIC exists to help these children reach their full potential and live a fulfilling and more rewarding life.

How do we do this?
Children attending the clinic are assessed holistically and their development is carefully examined from a medical, educational and social viewpoint to see where there are gaps or delays in the child’s natural development. All assessments are carried out by a multi-disciplinary team and are complementary to any treatments and intervention the child may already be receiving from the statutory services. From the assessment, the team is able to offer individually tailored therapy programmes to help parents and carers work with their child to make a positive difference to their future development. All programmes are devised for the family to continue at home, so that the child receives effective help every day. By teaching coping strategies, we believe we are able to contribute to an improvement in the quality of life for the whole family.

As a non-government funded organisation, BIBIC’s relies on supporters to help bring in vital funds, which allows the charity to directly help children and their families by supplying bursaries to those on a low income or who are in receipt of benefits. Through no fault of their own, many families are plummeted into financial difficulties because of their responsibilities in caring for a child with complex learning difficulties; BIBIC undertakes to raise these funds through a variety of methods. No child is ever turned away for financial reasons.

Who we are ?

Got abit ahead of ourselves, so here are the introductions.
We are Phil and Terry 2 engineers from Somerset, we are taking part in the czechwreck rally as team number 5 Does anybody no the way? Which is not just the team name its a very good question !! This involves driving from Calais to Prague in a car/van that we have bought for less than £100. Please check out link to the website. That's a massive 1500 miles.
After much looking for a suitable car for under the magic ton we came up with this k reg 1.1 Ford Fiesta van (with not to many luxury's it has to be said) for a whopping £98. We are planning on driving home from Prague at the end of the event so by the end we will have covered best part of 3000 miles, we plan to be home 6 days after leaving. MAD,BRAVE,OR JUST PLAIN STUPID we are not to sure yet !!!!!!

1st picture of our powerful van !!!!!!!!!

Well finally worked out how to do this after reading all your advice.

Here she is our 1.1 ford fiesta van when she first arrived and waiting for a new paint job!!!
